Archipelago Boat Day

Vaxholm welcomes summer with Archipelago Boat Day. The old archipelago boats, led by Norrskär and Storskär, arrive at the quay in a convoy and are met by a market and a public festival.

Take the archipelago boats from Strömkajen in Stockholm (ticket required, book your ticket for the boats here). In Vaxholm, the festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. and end at 9:45 p.m. when the last boat has left the quay.

If you would like to view the procession from the water, the M/S Långvik departs from the quay in Vaxholm at 6:45 p.m. to meet the boats. No advance booking is required, and tickets can be purchased on board.

Program:
5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Market on the quay at Söderhamnen
7:15 p.m. (approx.) The ships arrive in procession
7:30 p.m. Welcome speech
8:55 p.m. Flag ceremony and flag lowering
9:30 p.m. The steamboats sound their horns for departure
