Historically, Fredriksborg is part of the "Vaxholm line" and the defense of Stockholm. In 1724-1735, Fredriksborg Fortress was built, which was the strongest of its time. In 2013, a charming hotel with 15 double rooms was created in the officer's residence next door from 1751. The buildings are today a state building monument and the hotel arranges guided tours in the fortress which can also be rented for weddings, events and more.
Fredriksborg Hotell is located on a high plateau above Oxdjupet and Solöfjärden. Down by the water there is a cannon tower and a large brewing deck from the 18th century that serving beer in the summer. Just to the north is a newly built guest jetty for guests who want to come by boat.
At the top of the hotel, there's an orangery, a large wedding tent, outdoor terrace, garden, and natural land, with the fortress towering above. From its observation tower, the view stretches for miles.
Fredriksborg is the small, charming, personal hotel with large areas and idyllic nature. It is always open for groups, conferences, courses, weddings and parties.
During the summer, it is open every day for accommodation, breakfast, lunch, coffee and dinner, as well as during December for the Christmas table. April, May and September are open weekends for private individuals.

Located in the Archipelago but on the northern part of Värmdö Island, it can be reached by car in about 40 minutes from Stockholm city. There are bus services as well as boats and water taxis available. The hotel is happy to assist and can pick up guests and luggage for the final stretch.
