Art exhibition Kerstin Mattson, painting and Madeleine Israelsson, photography

Welcome to Roddarhuset! After the opening on May 31, the art exhibition will run from June 1 - 5. The gallery and café are open Tuesday - Sunday, 11 - 16.

A few words about Kerstin Mattsson
Born in Boden in 1945 where she spent her early years. Nowadays she lives and works in Stockholm, Vallentuna. Kerstin has been painting since 1998 when circumstances in life gave her access to her own time and the opportunity to discover the joy of creating. She lived fourteen years in the country. Inspired by the nature around her, she found the peace and time to develop her painting and many of her pictures were created there. The images she paints come about through a meditative, intuitive process where she fully enters into the creation. The challenge is to follow the process and see what the image is meant to be. Sometimes after many layers and a long time, sometimes with a quick and strong energy.

Education: Studies in painting and philosophy for Curt Källman, founder of the creative concept of Vedic Art. Training as Vedic Art teacher summer 2007. Short courses in both acrylic / oil and watercolor for various artists, including Gunnel Moheim and at Edsvik Art School. Member of Roslagens konstnärsgille, Svenska Konstnärer and Täby/Vallentuna konstrunda.

A few words about Madeleine Israelsson
Swedish artist living in Stockholm. Has previously exhibited in both Stockholm and Gothenburg and at various group exhibitions and music events. Madeleine creates art photographs of high quality. The works strive for exclusivity and are therefore only available in few copies along with a strong emotional value. Each individual work reflects an intense creative process, a process that involves work in processing and treatment through digital techniques and tools. The result is works that all represent a deep emotional value.

"Art is not something to be explained in words, it is something to be experienced. For me, art is about staying in the essence - in the feeling. And to approach this feeling as much as possible, I personally want to leave my art as something unsaid. This is my contribution to the viewer and to the experience."
