Special Hours at the Fortress Museum

During Ascension Day weekend, the Fortress Museum will be open for extended hours from May 14–19, 12:00 PM–4:00 PM.

Learn more about the defense of the archipelago over the past 500 years, and see special exhibitions on spies, animals in war, the Ytterby Mine, sea mines, and coastal rangers.

Try the family activity “Kalle Kanonkula and His Friends” together.

The activity and the museum are free for children ages 0–12.

A simple café in the museum.

The “Kastellet Boat,” departing from Djurgården 4, runs every 20 minutes between Vaxholm and Kastellet starting at 11:20 a.m. You can also travel to Kastellet using SL’s Vaxholm ferries.
