On Friday, October 9, we’ll be celebrating the 2026 Culture Night in Vaxholm. Enjoy a program that ranges from concerts to workshops, lectures, and theater. All events are free, but some require a ticket. Pick up your ticket starting September 28 at the Tourist Office (opens at 10:00 a.m.) or the Library (opens at 1:00 p.m.).

  • Guided tour of the Maritime Museum's collection of recreational boats


    Eva Berglund Thörnblom is a curator at the Maritime Museum and knows just about everything there is to know about Swedish recreational boats. During Culture Night, she will talk about the Maritime Museum’s unique collection of recreational boats. The year 2026 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of boat designer CG Pettersson, and the tour will focus specifically on the Pettersson boat.

    Where: Magasinet at Militärvägen 43 (on the eastern part of Rindö, next to Oscar-Fredriksborg)
    Time: Guided tour at 1:00 p.m. The collection is open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

  • Author Visit—Story Time with *Among Dragons and Drag Queens*


    The Nordic region's largest drag theater troupe, which writes books and performs storytime shows, plays, and musicals.

    Where: Vaxholm City Library
    Time: 2 :00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
