The jazz octet Rg3, the “Little Big Band” (trumpet, trombone, three saxophones, piano, bass, and drums), delivers foot-tapping jazz from the era when jazz was both the dominant dance music and the music of the connoisseurs—that is, the ’40s, ’50s, and early ’60s.
